We contributed to an important study on how to strengthen Europe in the fight against cancer. The study was written by the European Cancer Organisation at the request of the committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) of the European Parliament. The Anticancer Fund emphasised on the need to include drug repurposing in this fight.

We are happy to announce that our suggestion was retained and that drug repurposing is part of the recommendations to the European Parliament: "Developing repurposing of medicines for cancer treatment in the EU: the EU Cancer Mission, Europe's Beating Cancer Plan and forthcoming EU Pharmaceutical Strategy should clearly cohere in creating a more positive environment for the conduct of research into repurposing of medicines for cancer treatment." (p.112-113)
